{"id":11054,"date":"2025-09-30T14:04:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T11:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/libsite.asapbg.com\/?p=11054"},"modified":"2026-04-14T14:09:04","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T11:09:04","slug":"an-innovative-project-for-creativity-and-artificial-intelligence-in-libraries-has-been-launched-in-vratsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libvratsa.org\/en\/an-innovative-project-for-creativity-and-artificial-intelligence-in-libraries-has-been-launched-in-vratsa\/","title":{"rendered":"An innovative project for creativity and artificial intelligence in libraries has been launched in Vratsa."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/libsite.asapbg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Interreg-Logo-Romania-Bulgaria-RGB-Color-03-1024x308.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8177\" style=\"width:512px;height:154px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Regional Library \u201cHristo Botev\u201d \u2013 Vratsa, in partnership with the Dolj County Library \u201cAlexandru and Aristia Aman\u201d \u2013 Romania, has launched the joint cross-border project \u201cCreativity and Artificial Intelligence in the Libraries of Vratsa and Dolj\u201d \u2013 \u201cCreativity &amp; AI in Vratsa &amp; Dolj Libraries\u201d (CreAI-VDLib).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is implemented under the Interreg VI-A Romania\u2013Bulgaria Programme 2021\u20132027 and is co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the initiative is to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into the activities of public libraries in Vratsa and Craiova. The project will enhance the digital skills of library professionals, develop new educational formats, and stimulate the creativity of children and young people aged 9 to 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project promotes equal access to innovation and knowledge, modernizes library services, and establishes sustainable educational practices in the cross-border region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lead organization is the Regional Library \u201cHristo Botev\u201d \u2013 Vratsa, Bulgaria, and the project is implemented in partnership with the Dolj County Library \u201cAlexandru and Aristia Aman\u201d \u2013 Romania. Associated partners include schools from Vratsa and Craiova that will participate in activities for children and youth. From Vratsa, these are Innovative Primary School \u201cVasil Levski\u201d and Secondary School \u201cKozma Trichkov\u201d. From Craiova, three institutions are involved: \u0218coala Gimnazial\u0103 \u201cSf. Dumitru\u201d, \u0218coala Gimnazial\u0103 \u201cTraian\u201d, and Colegiul Na\u021bional \u201cFra\u021bii Buze\u0219ti\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project duration is 18 months \u2013 from August 2025 to February 2027. Its total budget amounts to \u20ac397,517.49, of which \u20ac318,013.98 is provided by the European Regional Development Fund and \u20ac79,503.51 represents national co-financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Main project activities include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Training sessions for librarians on working with AI technologies and implementation of a virtual library assistant available 24\/7;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creation and equipment of innovative learning spaces in both libraries;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organization of a \u201cCreativity and AI Academy\u201d for students, engaging them in experiments with technology, art, and creativity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modernization of library websites and expansion of online services;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promotion of innovation and sharing of best practices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organization of joint events for local communities in Vratsa and Craiova.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Expected results:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improved digital literacy among librarians and students;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New educational formats accessible to children from minority and vulnerable groups;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction of modern library services through virtual assistants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creation of sustainable conditions for future training and access to innovation in the cross-border region;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthened cooperation between libraries and schools in Bulgaria and Romania.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday, libraries are no longer just guardians of books\u2014they are centers of knowledge, innovation, and cultural dialogue. With this project, we give librarians the opportunity to become educators and mediators in the world of new technologies, and young people the chance to connect with the future today. Artificial intelligence is both a challenge and an inspiration\u2014it can be a tool for creativity, education, and personal development,\u201d emphasized the Director of the Regional Library \u201cHristo Botev\u201d \u2013 Vratsa, Silvia Pavlova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this collaboration, ties between the two countries are strengthened, opportunities for exchanging best practices are created, and a shared space for education, culture, and digital innovation is established in the cross-border region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening event was attended by the Regional Governor of Vratsa Region, Nikolay Nikolov; the Chairman of the Vratsa Municipal Council, Dr. Vladimir Hristov; the Deputy Mayor of Vratsa Municipality, Aleksandar Vladimirov; the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Culture at the Municipal Council \u2013 Vratsa, Irina Ivanova;
