This is a cutting-edge device that allows users to borrow, renew and return library materials on their own, as well as access information from their electronic reader account (user profile). The station identifies the reader and the items they wish to borrow, renew or return, and automatically registers the transaction in the library system. It operates very quickly and has been shown to serve users faster than service at a desk. Its functions are ergonomic and intuitive, with built-in guidance, and no training is required for users.

The technological upgrade of the Children’s Department will include the introduction of interactive games focused on STEM education through the installation of an interactive floor system.

The second direction includes the development of a reading promotion programme “Early Literacy”, consisting of three initiatives aimed at children and young people.

The first is the “Most Reading Class” competition, involving primary school students. The initiative aims to highlight the wide variety of literature available in the Children’s Department and to encourage reading habits through reading for pleasure.

The second initiative is a summer creative writing academy for children aged 10 to 18. It focuses on developing young people’s talents and introduces key aspects of writing, reading comprehension, self-expression through storytelling, and illustration.

The third is an architectural workshop “Lego World of Fairy Tales”, aimed at children aged 5 to 18. It allows them to explore the world of their favourite literary characters by recreating them using LEGO construction sets.

The third direction includes the implementation of media literacy information campaigns aimed at working-age people, particularly Generation Y (25–39) and Generation X (40–54). These information sessions will increase awareness of issues related to propaganda, misinformation, and fake news. Acquiring basic media literacy knowledge will raise awareness of its importance, foster critical thinking, and improve citizens’ participation in social processes as active members of society.

Project activities will be implemented in 2025.

The Ministry of Culture has approved a project by the Regional Library “Hristo Botev” under the programme “Technological Renewal, Technological Equipment and Promotion of Reading, Media and Information Literacy in […]

[1089,1092

post-11060","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-programs
["https://libvratsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/project-800x445.png",800,445,true
https://libvratsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/project-463x348.png",463,348,true
https://libvratsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/project-300x188.png",300,188,true
https://libvratsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/project.png",800,500,false
["GET
