STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE of the Programme:
To ensure easy and equal access to information, knowledge, communication, and electronic services in public libraries through the use of free Internet and other information and communication technologies, in order to support the integration of Bulgarian citizens into the global information society, improve their quality of life, and accelerate the development of civil society.

The Regional Library “Hristo Botev” is one of the target libraries in the Vratsa region participating in the programme. To date, the Global Libraries Programme has donated 24 computer workstations, a laptop, a server system, a multifunctional device, a colour laser printer, a router, a switch, a multimedia projector, and a screen. The computers are equipped with installed software and Internet access.

For free public access to the global network and the library’s information resources, a total of 10 computer systems are available to users across three departments of the library – Home Lending, General Reading Room, and the Reference, Bibliographic and Information Department.

The library also has a fully equipped Training Centre, where training sessions are conducted for library professionals from the Vratsa region in the fields of information and communication technologies and library services.
