Statute

of the regional competition for the 2024 annual awards:

  • Best Library in Vratsa Region 2024
  • Best Librarian in Vratsa Region 2024
  • Support for Libraries 2024

General conditions for participation:

1.1. All libraries and library specialists from public libraries in the region and their partner organizations may participate in the competition.

1.2. The awards are presented on the occasion of May 11 – the professional holiday of library and information specialists, for achievements over the past two years.

1.3. The award consists of an honorary plaque.

2. The awards are granted on a competitive basis for:

2.1. Achievements in fulfilling the mission of libraries and contributing to their prestige;
2.2. High standards and quality of library services;
2.3. Initiated advocacy campaigns, including events aimed at promoting reading;
2.4. Activities aimed at improving the quality of life in the community;
2.5. Innovative library services introduced for users;
2.6. Specific professional achievements during the defined period;
2.7. Joint initiatives and partnerships with other institutions and organizations contributing to community development;
2.8. Activities promoting and enhancing the reputation of BBIA;
2.9. Implementation of projects of public significance.

3. Nominations may be submitted by:

  • Library directors;
  • Public and school trustees;
  • BBIA members;
  • Representatives of local authorities;
  • Public, professional, and non-governmental organizations.

4. Nominations cannot be submitted by libraries or librarians for themselves, nor in cases of conflict of interest.

5. For each nomination, a standard application form must be completed, accompanied by supporting documents.

6. Deadline for submission of documents: April 30, 2024
