On June 18 at 10:30 a.m., in the park behind the monument of Hristo Botev, the Regional Library – Vratsa will open its long-awaited program “Summer in the Library” 2025 with a presentation of the book “The Sea Adventures of Tochitsa” by author Ralitsa Naydenova.
Where do children most love to go? We believe it’s the sea. That’s why we invite you on a sea journey together with Tochitsa and her friends Captain Morz, Toto, Erika, Bofur, and Grandma Tinche. Together with them, we will travel around the globe by water. We will discover fascinating facts about the Ocean and its inhabitants. We will talk about environmental protection and read fun stories from the book “The Sea Adventures of Tochitsa.”

The book “The Sea Adventures of Tochitsa” is the fourth part of the Tochitsa princess series, written by Ralitsa Naydenova and published by “A Mailbox Full of Stories.”
This summer, the Hristo Botev Regional Library – Vratsa once again opens its doors to new worlds, stories, and adventures – with a rich and diverse program for children and young people! From June to the end of August, every week will become a celebration of words, imagination, and knowledge.
“Summer Reading Room” – June 18 (Wednesday)
Meetings in our open-air summer reading room in the park behind the monument of Hristo Botev will continue every Wednesday until the end of July: 25.06, 02.07, 09.07, 16.07, 23.07, 30.07.
Creative Writing Academy – every Thursday (19.06 – 24.07)
For children and teenagers aged 10 to 18, we have prepared six weeks full of creative challenges – from grammar to writing original texts, including illustrations, titles, and techniques for effective reading. We welcome all young creators who want to write better, read with imagination, and express their ideas confidently and beautifully! The academy will take place in the Teen Room of the library.
Special guest mentors – editors, journalists, teachers, and artists – will also take part, inspiring participants with practical advice, personal experience, and workshops.
Architectural Workshop “LEGO World of Fairy Tales” – every Friday (20.06 – 25.07)
Small and older architects (ages 5–18) will work in two age groups, building fairy-tale worlds using LEGO bricks. The workshop develops spatial thinking and creativity through play.
“Games Come to Life” – STEM education in the library – Tuesday (24.06 – 29.07)
Games come to life through an interactive floor and the promotion of STEM education in the library. The interactive virtual floor offers a wide range of games for preschool and school-age children. The set includes both physical and cognitive games and activities across various fields of knowledge. They support learning through movement. Activities are organized into four modules: “Guess the Word,” “Guess the Emotion,” “Memory Wheel,” and “Find the Letters – Cyrillic.” Sessions will be held in the Children’s Department of the library.
“Green August – Meetings with Wildlife” (every Wednesday in August)
We have prepared four inspiring meetings dedicated to mysterious animals that can be found in the nature of the Vratsa Balkan. Educational, exciting, and green! The sessions are suitable for children up to 12 years old and will be held in the Children’s Department of the library.

Throughout the summer, in the Children’s Department, Teen Room, and our branch in the “Dabnika” residential area, you will find specially designed corners for board games and drawing – ideal for relaxation, inspiration, or simply sharing moments with friends among books.
